My wah wah pedal

A friend of mine found an old wah wah pedal in his house and gave it to me. It didn't sound very wah-ish, so I decided to gut it and replace the electronics with a wah wah pedal kit.

First I took out the old electronics:

Then I soldered together the new circuit:

Next I connected the hardware. I added a power switch, which it didn't have before, and a power input socket. The old circuit operated by a 9V battery but the new one needs 12V, so I power it with my 12V power supply.

The pedal didn't have a switch to turn the effect on and off, but it did have the exact right sized hole in the exact right position to install a footswitch. So I put one in. Now the effect can be turned on and off by pressing on the front of the pedal. This is good because the wah sound happens when you are rocking the pedal back, so you won't accidentally turn it off while you're playing.

Here's an mp3 of everybody's favourite riff played with and without wah wah.
