Coke fireworks

Blew up a Coke bottle last night. Caustic soda, alfoil and water in a bottle sure do make a nice boom. The remains:




Also, I noticed this warning sticker in a Hyundai Santa Fe the other day, and for the life of me I couldn't figure out what the hell was happening in the picture. Something to do with the airbag I think, but what? WHAT IS IT??




Actually I just figured out it's a baby seat. But it's hard enough to figure out. Attention Hyundai: make more comprehensible warning stickers!

I've finally got my new graphics card working!

I got it a couple of weeks ago, primarily to get San Andreas and Deus Ex: Invisible War to run. When I installed it it basically made everything worse. Pretty much I went from lacklustre graphics acceleration to no graphics acceleration, which didn't seem right given the superiority of the new card. But I didn't know what to do so I put up with it for a while. Then today I bought a couple of games: Worms 3D and Evil Genius. I installed them hoping they would work, which they didn't. Then I put in the old card again and re-installed its drivers, and the new games worked but were unplayably jerky. After an annoying half an hour or so playing Evil Genius at a few frames per second I put the new card back in and re-installed the drivers again. And... it worked!

So now I have four new games to play!

Good day

Today was a good day. I had nothing to do at work so I hung around making mischief, and then got the afternoon and tomorrow morning off. To ease my boredom I started writing cryptic messages on boxes:



Then I inflated some big plastic bags with compressed air:



Then I started work on the pièce de résistance:




It didn't take long. Slash open a mouth and eyes with a razor blade, then stick the blade in for the nose. Insert two marbles covered in white paint with dots of black paint for pupils. A bit of red paint around the mouth for the vampire look. A paint strainer for a hat...

And I've almost finished my latest electronic project: A guitar transmitter, that clips onto the strap and plugs into the guitar so it can be played through a radio. Handy if you don't have an amp on hand or you hate cables.

I've finally updated the main site! I've put up a page about my wah wah pedal in Other Stuff. Also, being the weekend, there is a new comic.
